AWHile
Achievable Workforce Housing... What everyone is talking about. Now is the time to walk the talk and stay AWHile.
With more than half of the residential property in the Lake Tahoe Region being composed of vacation rentals and second homes achievable workforce housing is identified as one of Placer County’s Critical Success Factors, a key provision of Placer County’s Housing Element and named as an essential need in economic studies and community surveys. The need for achievable workforce housing is overwhelming but the proposed studio and one bedroom units at Chalet Blanc will represent a small but impactful step.
Offering units not only to individuals meeting the requirements for achievable workforce housing, but also to local businesses to sublease to similarly qualified employees (without a major investment) Chalet Blanc hopes to allow businesses to be more secure and stable with a reliable, hyper-local workforce. Such businesses, once firmly established, may even follow the precedent and increase availability of units one project at a time. Chalet Blanc could also appeal to large employers like the county, TTUSD, TFHD, various public safety agencies and non-profit organizations that all have locations within walking distance.
US BANK
Since the Lincoln administration signed our national bank charter No. 24 in 1863, we’ve drawn on our financial strength to serve customers. This has been especially evident in times of need, such as during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our response by the end of 2020 included a $20 million premium pay program for our employees, relief assistance and 108,000 Small Business Administration Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans for our customers, and $30 million in expedited charitable contributions for our communities. As a result, we’re proud to have been named the most essential bank amid the pandemic in a ranking by The Harris Poll.
We also recognize that this past year has fundamentally changed banking by accelerating the shift to digital products and services. We’re positioned well for this future, having launched new tools – like the U.S. Bank Smart Assistant™ – to complement our 26-state branch footprint.
