MOLLY OLSON
Molly is a licensed architect and interior designer, business manager and financial controller who is also excited by and educated / skilled in a variety of environmentally friendly planning and living practices. Molly has served on the Tahoe Community Nursery School board, is on Tahoe Lake Elementary’s PTO, is co-leader of the only Girl Scout Troop in North Lake Tahoe and is looking to establish a Cub Scout Den in the area as well. Molly is a passionate advocate for Tahoe City’s youth and their role in the future vitality of the community.
ROBB OLSON
Robb is a licensed real estate broker, architect and general contractor and is also an artist trained in various mediums. Robb is the current President of the Tahoe City Downtown Association, former board member of the Bear Creek Association, founding member of the micro-mass transit district serving Olympic Valley and Alpine Meadows, has recently joined the Tahoe Basin Design Review Committee, and regularly attends and participates in various community meetings. He is actively involved in improving the vibrancy of Tahoe City through various community programs.
BRUCE OLSON
Longtime local general contractor, Bruce Olson, has fifty three years of personal experience in the construction field in Tahoe. Bruce was the son of a builder in Saratoga, California and worked alongside his father from age five. Having lived in the area since 1970, Bruce and his wife, Molly J, have served on various community boards and associations with the aim of beautifying the built environment while enhancing and preserving the natural environment. Additionally, Bruce donated the material and labor for the two public transportation shelters near the “Y” in Tahoe City.
OTHERS
The staff of Land to Living is composed of educated and skilled professionals in various fields of the planning, real estate, architecture, construction and interior design fields.
In areas where either the owners, managers or staff are not sufficiently versed, Land to Living has close working relationships with local, licensed professionals and experts.
As well as using is own funds Land to Living works with private and institutional lenders.
COMBINING EFFORTS
The property owner of Chalet Blanc, OWE 705 NLB LLC, and developer, Land to Living, Inc., have entered into a joint venture to collaborate on the planning, architecture, construction, and operation of an expansion to Chalet Blanc. There is a common ownership interest among these entities which will facilitate a smooth working relationship.
OWE 705 NLB LLC is a real estate holding company controlled by Bruce Olson, a craftsman, artisan and licensed general contractor of Bruce Olson Construction with fifty three years of experience building in Lake Tahoe.
Land to Living, Inc. is licensed real estate brokerage, architect and contractor and will be the developer of the expansion to Chalet Blanc. The principals of Land to Living, Molly and Robert Olson, have a combined three degrees and two minors, nine professional licenses and thirty six years of experience in the building field. Over the last sixteen years, but through various business names, Land to Living has been working with buyers and sellers in real estate, providing architectural design and building in Lake Tahoe with an emphasis on sustainability.
In partnership with Bruce Olson Construction, Land to Living developed the highly successful Cedar Crest Cottages in 2013. The cottages were an adaptive re-use of the historic Cedar Crest resort and were transformed into a collection of nine vacation rentals. The project, located on West Lake Boulevard near Homewood Mountain Resort, was intended to inspire other similar historic properties to adopt a similar structure of consolidating vacation rentals along public transit and bike paths.
The team has also partnered on several private residential and commercial projects over the years and plans to push forward the long awaited Big Chief Camp Lodge in the next few years.
The wealth of experience and expertise of the team in the various fields required to plan, design, construct and operate Chalet Blanc will serve the project and its mission well.
